ProfessorTandon School of EngineeringNew York University, USAomarwani [at] nyu.eduOmar Wani is an assistant professor at New York University's Tandon School of Engineering, where he leads the Hydrologic Systems Group. He is a faculty member at the interdisciplinary Urban Institute, which aims to address pressing urban challenges and to be at the forefront of global urban innovation, with access to NYC as a living laboratory. The Urban Institute combines the Dept. of Civil, Urban, & Environmental Eng. and the Center for Urban Science and Progress. Omar is also:
a PI at NYU C2SMART, Connected Cities with Smart Transportation,
part of the NYU Sustainability Initiative, which emphasizes transdisciplinarity and systems thinking to tackle the current sustainability challenges,
and a member of the NYU Climate Initiative's steering committee.
He likes to work at the intersection of science and application. Apart from research, he enjoys stimulating conversations, reading poetry, running along streams, hiking in the mountains, and traveling in general.
